I think I have one of the best jobs in the world. I love storytelling using light, colour and mood. That wonderful feeling you get when an image hits that magical place where it speaks and comes to life is one of the greatest there is.
In my almost 20 years of colour grading I have earned many film cuts lacing telecines, gotten my hands dirty with a bit of chemical lab timing, and embraced the digital, file-based colour finishing revolution. I have been lucky enough to take my craft to places like China, the US, Bulgaria, New Zealand and Australia, meeting and working with many amazingly talented people along the way. I have been Supervising Colourist on big VFX films and also spruced up many a clever and elegant commercial. I have found that the skills and styles gained in each of these areas feed and help enhance the others.
I like to be broadened creatively by my collaborations with directors, cinematographers and filmmakers. My ultimate goal is to bring the right kind of life, tone and mood to each story by listening and adapting to the vision and sensibility of its creators; to colour each project with a unique and faithful visual signature we can all be proud of.
